A family full of architects and builders, we designed Hapuku Lodge & Tree Houses to be contemporary country hotel accommodation. Not limiting our design efforts to the building, we also designed and handcrafted, with local wood working friends, the majority of the furniture throughout the lodge. This includes the custom designed beds that some guests say, “are the most comfortable beds in the South Island.” In 2003 our accommodation started with guest rooms in the main Lodge and the Olive House Suite, in 2006 we added our five luxury Tree Houses.
3 new Luxury Lodge Suites - Hapuku Suite, Lodge Suite and Pool Suite - will be available from January 1 2010.

The Olive House Suite is spacious accommodation located above our Olive Press and meeting room facility. Separate from the lodge, enjoying views in every direction it has a separate accommodation and lounge.
Nested 30 feet (10 M) above the ground in the canopy of a native Manuka grove, each Tree House accommodation has spectacular views of Kaikoura's dramatic mountains and surf-washed Pacific coastline.
